Mission Spot: Greetings from Gator Boys’ Camp in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As the Apostle Paul writes in I Thessalonians 1:3, please “Pray that our work would be produced by faith, our labor prompted by love, and our endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ”. Some days our work, labor, and endurance runs low. Pray that through the Lord’s strength, and not our own, we would continue to teach, care, and love the boys God has called us to serve in His name. Pray too that God’s continued strong presence would be most evident to the boys, their families, and others who stop by to see the camp. Thank the Lord for the ways He continues to supply our needs to keep moving forward, (a commitment was made this week to pay off half of the house mortgage!!) Praise the Lord. Lastly, we thank God daily for the covering of prayer support, encouragement, and financial support provided by you as a congregation. Thanks for being faithful to Christ’s Kingdom here on earth as we strive to place our treasures “where moth and rust cannot touch”.
We love you and God’s Best to you all, Gregg (for all the Kanagys at Gator Boys’ Camp

Over a month ago our church conference celebrated 100 years of God’s faithfulness. Our historian, Sanford King, brought a chalice home from the celebration in memory of our conference centennial celebration. It is now on display in our historical display area in the back of our sanctuary in honor of the fact that our church was one of three that was represented at that first conference meeting in 1910.

Gator Camp Update: “Praise the LORD, O my soul...The LORD sets the prisoners free, the LORD gives sight to the blind. The LORD lifts up those who are bowed down... Psalm 146:1, 7b-8. At Gator Camp Wilderness School, we give praise to our LORD. He does set prisoners free and lift up those who are bowed down. We are seeing that in the lives of boys here in southwest Florida. The weather may be hot and humid, and the rain comes down in watery sheets, but we are experiencing His protection as His children call out to Him. Thank you for praying for God’s work here this week. One of the breakthroughs experienced by campers this week was a 15 year old boy who wanted to be rid of the guilt of sexual sins. After he spent time sharing and seeking forgiveness, he wrote a short song and sang it with another camper for the entire camp group. Here are the words he wrote and sang:
Oh Lord, forgive me, Oh Lord, forgive me for my sins
Cause your son died on the cross,
Now I can repent of my sins and praise Your Holy Name.
Oh Jesus, the King of kings
Oh Lord, I live to praise Your Holy Name.
Chorus: I will pray night and day for the rest of eternity in heaven.
I can serve You in heaven, I can serve You in heaven
For the rest of eternity.
Ray S. - Gator Wilderness Camp School Buccaneer
Please continue to pray for the Lord’s protection over Gator Camp, and for freedom for the captives. What an awesome God we serve.
We are disciples of Jesus Christ, encouraging all people to become His fully devoted followers.
