Mission Spot: Praise God that both Joseph Zook and Bethany Zook reached their financial goals for their REACH experience. Joseph spent this past week in St. Louis with his South Africa team on their ten day outreach experience. Pray for Joseph to continue learning and growing spiritually through this three month training time as he prepares to spend nine months with the other five members of his team near Johannesburg, South Africa, working with orphans in a ministry called Refilwe. www.refilwe.org

Donations of good used maternity clothes (small and medium), good used (washed) baby clothes, and new onesies (newborn) are needed for Living Alternatives, which is a home in Romania for single mothers who choose to raise their babies. A quilt and textile show, featuring at least 200 exhibits, and sponsored by Mennonite Heritage Center, will be held in the Maple Grove Mennonite Church fellowship hall on Friday, October 17th, from 1:30-9:00 p.m., and on Saturday, October 18th, from 9:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Admission is $3.00. Janneken Smucker, who has studied, written, and worked extensively in textile history, along with Belleville resident Elaine Mercer, will be present to provide guided tours of the show on Friday at 3:00 p.m. and on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Attendees are invited, if they wish, to bring an heirloom quilt or other valued textile for evaluation or comment. Attention Secret Friend Givers & Receivers: Keep Saturday, December 6th open for a mid morning get together in the fellowship hall. This will be a time for givers to reveal yourself to your friend and give a Christmas gift. Also, someone is needed to help to keep this ministry going next year. DAILY PRAYER GUIDE - October 12 - 18

12 Sun - “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Ps. 139:23,24

13 Mon - Pray for God’s renewing presence in our congregation as He speaks to us tonight through Steve. Pray for a new awareness of His love within our congregation and through our relationships with each other. Pray also for Leonard and Esther Peachey following the death of Esther’s brother, Wilbur Graybill, who died last Wednesday. The funeral will be held this morning at 10:00 at Lost Creek Mennonite Church

14 Tues - Pray for families in our church who are continuing to deal with health issues. Pray for God’s healing grace and calming presence as they experience discomfort, uncertainty, and trips to doctors.

15 Wed - Thank God for Collin James Hartzler, infant son of Dustin & Robin Hartzler, who was born one week ago. Pray for the Hartzlers and other families in our church who are loving and raising small children.

16 Thurs - Pray for JoAnn Plank today as she travels to Romania to meet with Bob and encourage the YWAM staff; Alin, Gabi, Melissa, and their new baby Julia. Pray for God’s spirit to guide Bob as he spends some time in Turkey this week before returning to Romania.

17 Fri - Continue to pray for our government officials; for wisdom and clarity in guiding our country through an uncertain time. Pray as well for God to lead in all aspects of our upcoming election, so that He reveals His glory in the world today.

18 Sat - Invite God’s Spirit to help us prepare today to worship Him and experience His love as we share a special communion service tomorrow. Pray for Max as he prepares to speak and for our youth worship team preparing to lead us.
